  2 new cases of bovine tuberculosis prompt downgrade in California status

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) - The U.S. Department of Agriculture is downgrading California's tuberculosis status subsequent two new cases of bovine tuberculosis were reported in Fresno County.

That means cattle from the state will be subject to additional testing before it can be shipped elsewhere.

Veterinarians from the USDA and the state Department of Food and Agriculture have been working to eradicate TB from the plight's riff-raff. herds since it was detected in a herd in January. Since in consequence, more than 150,000 head of cattle have been tested.

The plight's last outbreak occurred in 2003 in Kings and Tulare counties. Until January, California had been TB-free since 2005.

The newest cases came up in brace separate dairy herds in Fresno County.
