April 17, 2008 - 08:17 a.m. MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Supervalu says its profit jumped 30 percent in the fourth quarter from lower interest expenses and a slight boost in sales. The grocer says earnings rose to $156 million, or 73 cents per share, from $120 million, or 57 cents per ploughshare in the year-ago quarter. Supervalu Inc. says it earned 77 cents per share excluding acquisition costs. Thomson Financial says analysts expected 71 cents per share. ...
